It’s edgy and young and imaginative and it’s back for a second year.
Release the Hounds literary festival made a big impression last year in Knaresborough in a range of venues across the town.
Helmed by stylish drama graduate Stephanie Jones, who hails from Knaresborough, this year’s event promises a feast of performance poetry and devised theatre from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14.
The not-for-profit event will feature performers of national standing - Elephant Collective, Mike Garry, Matthew Bellwood, Luke Wright, Henry Raby and Katie Bonna.
Having succeeded in London, Stephanie said: “I want to encourage young people to engage with the arts of the 21st Century and show that a successful festival can be produced in an area that sometimes floats under the cultural radar. “
Release the Hounds shows will take place in a variety of venues around Knaresborough including The Mitre Hotel, Blind Jacks, The Cross Keys, Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, The Frazer Theatre Studio, Art in The Mill and in the Market Place.
