HARROGATE Town slipped to a narrow 1-0 Blue Square North defeat at home to Corby on Saturday, and won’t return to action until this weekend.

Town were scheduled to play Alfreton Town at home on Tuesday night, but Alfreton’s FA Trophy match with Mansfield ended in a 1-1 draw and the replay will take place on Tuesday instead.

On Saturday, Netan Samsara came off the bench to score the only goal of the game at Wetherby Road.

Meantime, KNARESBOROUGH TOWN surged into the semi-final of the West Riding County Cup with a 4-2 win over Golcar United.

‘Boro’ were two-nil down before Giuseppe Downing and Jared McGivern both slammed in two goals each to fire ‘Boro’ into the semi-final.

HARROGATE RAILWAY were due to play Skelmersdale United away in the Evo-Stik First Division North, but that was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Railway are back in action on Tuesday night when Woodley Sports are the visitors.

In rugby union, HARROGATE RUFC enjoyed a 24-17 victory at home to strugglers Kendal.

The win marked the end of a run of poor results for Harrogate, who are away at title hopefuls Loughborough on Saturday.
