Town bolster squad with another signing

HARROGATE Town have added former Ilkeston Town utility man Simon Harrison to their squad after a busy week in the transfer market.

This follows Monday's capture of former Boston United striker Ollie Ryan.

Harrison will be a welcome addition to the squad according to boss Simon Weaver. He can play centre midfield, right wing or right back.

"Simon was fantastic last season, and in my opinion played a major role in us achieving promotion at Ilkeston," said Weaver.

"He's a fast and industrious player, and he's also young having just turned 20 last week."

Harrison former clubs include Rotherham, Matlock Town before moving to

Ilkeston Town in January this year.

23-year-old Ryan meanwhile comes on the back of a successful season last term bagging 22 goals from 38 appearances at Boston.

Ryan started his career at Lincoln United as a trainee. He also had spells with Spalding United and Ilkeston Town.

In March 2008 he moved to Hucknall Town before ending up at home town club Boston.

Weaver has made Harrison his seventh signing since taking the Town hot seat. He joins Matt Bloomer, Dean Gent, John Lamb, Leon Scott and Dave McTiernan at the CNG Stadium.
