Railway target 20 points by Christmas as league hots up
Harrogate Railway beat Tadcaster Albion 3-2 on Tuesday night
Harrogate Railway boss Billy Miller is urging his troops forward as they clash with sides fighing at either end of the Evo-Stik First Division North.
Railway host third-placed Clitheroe on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and travel to basement side Garforth on Tuesday (7.45pm).
The matches follow Tuesday’s 3-2 WRCC win over Tadcaster Albion and Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Curzon Ashton.
Miller believes Railway put in a performance of the season at the weekend, and wants a repeat in this week’s league double-header.
He said: “These are massive games for us. Clitheroe are doing well, but we went there and goat a draw earlier this season.
“I am a little bit worried for garforth, because there are rumours going around. They are a local team, and you don’t want to see them ending up somehwere they don’t want to be.
“It is a match we want to win, like when we played Goole a few weeks ago.We are aiming tobget to around 20 points for Christmas.”
Reflecting on Saturday, Miller said: “It was probably the best we have played all season.
“We played them off the pitch, but they had that extra quality in front of goal.”
