More defensive Railway to line up against in-form Curzon Ashton
hsb Railway Athletic v Salford City. Number 9. (121110M3d)
Harrogate Railway travel to face Curzon Ashton in the Evo-Stik First Division North on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Manager Billy Miller is considering a more defensive formation against Ashton, who have recently hit top scoring form.
An 86th minute goal by Nathan Cartman saw Railway scrape a 1-1 draw at home to Wakefield on Saturday, leaving them 16th in the division.
Miller said: “Saturday is a massive game, and they have just hit form.
“We always seem to play these teams just as they have hit a good patch.
“We may have to adopt a more defensive formation to keep them at bay, it is going to be a very difficult game.”
The boss is keen to stun Railway’s hosts.
He said: “If we catch them on a good day, it will be a very difficult night, but on a bad day, we can cause a shock.”
Railway’s County Cup match against Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday was postponed as the Station View pitch was waterlogged.
It will now be played on Tuesday December 4.
Miller said: “We are at that time of year now, it torments the life out of everyone in football.”
On the Wakefield result, Miller said: “I thought we were never going to score, but I think a draw was a fair result.”
Simon Parks and Paddy Maguire will miss this weekend’s match.
