Freezing weather wipes out fixture list

WITH snow falling in Yorkshire, the majority of sport fixtures in and around Harrogate have been postponed.

Harrogate RUFC, Harrogate Railway, Knaresborough Town and later Harrogate Town have all bit the dust.

Only Harrogate Hockey survived the weather.

A severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office who predict a band of snow to move across England, from the west, during Saturday afternoon and evening.

Accumulations of snow of around 5cm are likely in places; this includes low lying areas.
