Football: Town recover with five-star show against Hinckley

Harrogate Town stormed back from Thursday’s FA Cup heartache in Hastings with a 5-0 demolition of Hinckley United at Wetherby Road.
The match, which was free to supporters, saw 1,500 through the turnstiles and the team reward the support with a win which lifts them to 12th in the Blue Square North table.
Chib Chilaka got proceedings under way with a first minute penalty before Adam Nowakowski made it 2-0 in five minutes.
Chilaka then turned home Tom Platt’s cross after 20 minutes but the goals kept coming when Shane Killock drove home after 67 minutes.
Platt rounded off a fine afternoon by slamming into the roof of the net after Chilaka’s initial shot was blocked.
Town host Guiseley in the County Cup at Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday.
Meantine, a waterlogged pitch denied Harrogate Railway a game, while Tadcaster Albion were also kicking their heels with no scheduled game.
But Knaresborough Town enjoyed a 3-1 victory over Appleby Frodingham to move fourth in the NCE First Division.
Ripon City won 2-0 at Kippax and Boroughbridge 4-2 at Pool in the West Yorkshire League Premier.
Bardsey were beaten 3-2 at home to Otley Town, while Wetherby enjoyed a 3-0 win at Carlton Athletic.
Sherburn White Rose drew 1-1 at home to Old Mods in Division Two.
