Football: Tadcaster Albion and Knaresborough Town grab victories

Tadcaster Albion surged to victory against Staveley Miners Welfare on Saturday, winning 4-0 in the NCEL Premier.

Terry Taylor opened the scoring for Paul Marshall’s troops, before Nick Thompson found the net.

George Bissett added a goal to make it 3-0 before Thompson secured his brace and the win with his second of the afternoon.

In the NCEL First Division, Knaresborough Town claimed a 4-1 win at Askern Villa.

Meantime, Harrogate Railway were beaten 4-0 away at Ramsbottom United in the EvoStik First Division North.

In a tough day at the office for Billy Miller’s side, they also lost Colin Hunter to a red card.

Over in the West Yorkshire Premier, Bardsey won 2-0 at Carlton Athletic, and Wetherby Athletic crushed Boroughbridge 3-0.
