Football: Harrogate Town 3 Harrogate Railway 0

HARROGATE Town regained the John Smith's Trophy on Tuesday, beating Harrogate Railway 3-0 at the CNG Stadium.

Winger Wayne Phillips opened the scoring on the half-hour mark before

Graeme Armstrong doubled the lead on the hour and trialist Danny Wright wrapped up the game with a header on 75 minutes.

Boss Simon Weaver was pleased with Town's overall domination of the game.

"There were three good goals, once we got a foothold on the game after the first 20 minutes," he told Town's official website.

"It was a little like an FA Cup game where the underdogs always have a go for the first 20 minutes.

"We weathered that and then put a real stamp on the game."
