THEY are off and running with a double Yorkshire League victory over Bank Holiday.

Now Harrogate CC skipper Ryan Bradshaw wants them to kick on at the top of the table and keep up the heat on their rivals.

Sheffield Collegiate travel to St George’s Road tomorrow with the home side firing on all cylinders (noon start).

Bradshaw is all set to hand youngster Sam Davies his Yorkshire League debut after he impressed his skipper during Sunday’s victory over Beverley in the National Knockout.

“Collegiate were bowled out for 49 on Saturday,” said Bradshaw.

“But teams are usually strong when they play Harrogate.

“They’ve been a strong side in the past and we’re expecting another tough one.

“We’ve just got to keep it going.

“After missing the first few weeks everyone was eager to get on last week and play.”

On Saturday their winning run started at Doncaster.

Joe Ellis-Grewal (4-22) was the bowling star as the home side were bowled out for 77. ‘Gate had a slight wobble in reply, slipping to 68-5.

But they came through Harold Galley’s 26 not out.

“It was a really ruthless performance by us,” said Bradshaw.

“In the field and with the ball we were excellent. Joe Ellis especially, he was the bowling star.”

A day later ‘Gate posted 247 in their National Knockout clash. Alexis Twigg (80), Vic Craven (53) and Andy Hawkswell (32) got the runs.

Davies (3-34) was the pick of the bowlers in reply as Beverley were short on 185.

The performance was particularly pleasing for Bradshaw.

“It was a great result,” he said.

“This season we are looking to blood some youngsters and second teamers and they did really well.

“Sam Davies was excellent, I am going to hand him his first team debut on the back of that performance.”

Then on Monday, a trip to Hull was on the menu.

Again it was a five-wicket win for ‘Gate who surpassed the home side’s 110 with enough to top the the table on 19 points.
