Knaresborough golfer John Parry outshone the world’s top three players as he finished inside the top 30 at the US Open Championships.
Parry ended 12 over par after the four days competing around the tough Merion Golf Club course.
A final round of 73 (+3) saw the 26-year-old climb the leaderboard to finish tied-28th as others toiled in the rough and on the sharp greens.
World number one Tiger Woods dropped four shots on his final round to end 13 over while two-time Major winner Rory McIlroy carded 14 over for the championships.
Masters champion Adam Scott of Australia was a further shot back on +15.
Justin Rose became the first Englishman to win a Major since Nick Faldo in 1996 as he held his nerve to finish one over.
With the high placing, Parry jumped up 100 places in the world rankings to 518.
