Wetherby Golf Club professional Mark Daubney hosts the third of his golf tips being published in the Harrogate Advertiser series.
In this week’s session, Mark looks at distance control.
He says: “For me, this is the area club golfers should work on most, there is no real reason why you can’t be as good as a professional in this area. “Using the posture previously talked about and with a shoulder width stance let your arms hang freely and take hold of the putter.
“People talk about the shoulders rocking, they should, but the feel of the putt should come from your forearms.
“Use a longer stroke for longer putts, shorter for shorter.
“Think of speed, not hard or soft and try to keep your head still until you complete your stroke.”
