Wetherby Athletic boss Des English questioned his players’ attitudes after a humiliating 3-1 defeat to basement side Pool.
The Ings men trailed 3-0 against the West Yorkshire Premier bottom club before Anthony Walsh nodded in a consolation from a corner.
Des English said he would be giving his sixth-placed players a rollicking before they travel to Ossett Albion on Saturday.
The boss said: “The result matched the performance on the day.
“I’m really disappointed.
“Not to give them (Pool) a disservice because they worked hard but the only thing holding us back is ourselves.
“We are making one step forward then one step back at the moment.
“You can’t play for only 20 minutes in a game and expect to get something.”
Walsh scored in his first match since returning from a hamstring injury and his boss confirmed he was Athletic’s best player on the day.
“He’s been a real find this season,” English said.
Joe Wilkes (holiday) and Dillon Parr (groin) should return for Saturday’s game .
English admits he is going into the match blind having not played Albion this season.
The boss added: “It might be better for me because first things first I have to look at my lot.”
