Boss Mark Forster insists Wetherby Athletic will not get complacent in their bid to stave off relegation.
Athletic’s revival rumbled on when they beat lowly Otley Town 4-1 on Saturday, to win three straight matches for the first time this season.
The three points lifted Athletic off rock bottom and out of the West Yorkshire Premier relegation zone.
This week, Forster’s Tangerines travel to high-flying Barnsley outfit Field.
Forster said: “It feels fantastic, just the relief to finally be picking up points.
“We have a bit of momentum. I just wish it had started a little bit earlier.
“To be out of relegation with four games to spare is unreal. It puts the pressure back on Kippax.
“Nobody is being complacent though. We still have it all to do in the next four games. Field are absolutely buzzing at the moment. They are riding really high.”
An Otley own goal broke the deadlock on Saturday before Danny Coates made it 2-0 at half-time. Jack Emmett made it three with a cool finish before Anthony Walsh’s powerful header put the game beyond the visitors.
“It was a good advert for the league,” added Forster.
“You can see some confidence in the side, and the performances are improving all the time.”
