Harrogate Town players face an anxious wait to find out if they are in boss Simon Weaver’s plans for next term.
Weaver sat down with assistant John McDermott on Monday to discuss next season’s squad.
Adam Bolder, Craig MacGillivray and Shane Killock have all already signed two year deals to remain at the CNG.
The gaffer will tell players their future in the coming week before starting a selective process of adding new faces.
“We are keeping a large core of the team,” he said.
“I’ll be going round to speak to the players face to face on our plans for next season.
“I don’t want it to be a five minute phone conversation. I owe it to them.
“We are building from strength. The character of players is important. It needs to compliment what we have,”
Work will start on the CNG Stadium’s pitch this week and the boss hopes the early start will create a pitch conducive to Town’s passing game.
The club held its annual presentation dinner on Saturday. Killock was voted Players’ Player of the Season and MacGillivray won the Fans Player of the Season vote.
Weaver added: “Shane’s been a rock for us. Mentally he is very strong and he doesn’t seem to have a wobble under pressure.”
