Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver is excited for the ball to get rolling ahead of his side’s first pre-season clash at the weekend.
Championship side Barnsley will visit the CNG Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) to kick-start Town’s busy schedule of friendlies.
Weaver confirmed four triallists will get chance to show their skills as he looks to add up to three players to his squad.
Former Burnley academy player Ross Wilson and released Doncaster Rovers youngster Sam Jones have been training with the first team squad.
Goalkeeper Peter Cook and midfielder Alex Metcalfe have also returned to the club to fight for a contract.
Weaver said: “If one of the triallists stand out and we think they are at the level then they will come in.
“Sam Jones has come in in training and impressed so we are looking forward to seeing what he can do on the pitch.”
Weaver hailed the dedication of his players through the first weeks of training and he highlighted the impact of the new players.
He said: “They have upped the level in training.
“Fans will make their own judgements when they see them but it’s a time for patience to let them settle in.
“Barnsley will be a hard work out.
“It’s a chance for players to get playing on the pitch again.”
Meanwhile, former Town star Chib Chilaka has joined Lee Elam and Danny Forrest at Conference North rivals Bradford Park Avenue.
