harrogate Town extended their unbeaten run to seven games on Saturday.

They drew 1-1 away at Stafford Rangers to stay 14th in the Blue Square North.

After four minutes Ciaran Toner headed Gary King’s corner against the crossbar, then both King and Jake Picton threatened from headers.

Soon afterwards Toner shot over from Graeme Armstrong’s centre, then Rangers couldn’t stop Adam Nowakowski’s through ball, which broke to Hardy, but Lee Evans bravely blocked his powerful drive.

Rangers took the lead in the 25th minute and Town were unable to dig out an equaliser until 12 minutes from time.

Another through-ball from Bowey split Stafford’s defence and Toner fired past Evans at his near post to earn a share of the points.

Meantime in the Evo-Stik First Division North, HARROGATE RAILWAY won 3-2 at home to Chorley.

Jon Maloney’s 16th minute penalty, plus goals by Colin Hunter and Simon Parkes in the 31st and 86th minutes secured all three points.
