Talented amateur footballer Greg Kidd is in the mix to win a professional playing contract with League Two Swindon Town FC.
The 18-year-old defender from Harrogate has been selected to take part in first-round trials that lead to a dream professional contract.
Greg achived this after entering Samsung’s nationwide Win A Pro Contract competition in a bid to sign for Swindon Town.
Greg said: “I decided to enter this competition after being released from Oldham, where I played for two years.
“It feels great to get through to the trials, its good know that I’m up to standard and I think I stand as much chance as anyone of winning!”
Win A Pro ambassador and ex-Swindon player Chris Kamara is sure the competition will be a life-changing experience for the winner.
Chris said: “Win A Pro Contract is a great break for one lucky lad. He might start off in The Football League and work his way to The Premier League, who knows?
“So many players are rejected by clubs, or do not get an opportunity to shine. Win A Pro is a great initiative by Samsung, it will be a huge honour for whoever wins it.”
Win A Pro hopefuls take part in national and regional trials, before the winner is chosen by Paolo Di Canioand joins up with the first-team squad in the January 2012 transfer window.
