Tadcaster Albion have been stung by the departure of two influential players in last season's title winning campaign.

Goalkeeper Gary Stevens and defender Jordan Armstrong have exited the Brewers due to work commitments.

Albion will face a big increase in travel when lining up in the Evo-Stik First Division North next season.

Stevens was an ever-present figure between the sticks in his only season at Albion.

He joined Tadcaster last summer a year after playing a crucial role in knocking the club out in the FA Vase quarter-finals with Swindon-based side Highworth Town.

The stopper said: "Due to work commitments I am unable to commit to the extra travelling required for the Evo-Stik next year.

“The year that I had with you all was absolutely the best of my short career and will live long in the mind."

Armstrong has opted to concentrate on his up and coming football business.

The right-back moved to Tad from Harrogate Railway alongside boss Billy Miller at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

He created six goals from his defensive position and the club thanked him for a “phenomenal season”.
