Wetherby Athletic boss Mark Forster believes his players are too naive.
Athletic slumped to a sixth West Yorkshire Premier defeat this season at Boroughbridge on Saturday, losing 4-0 to fall to 13th.
Athletic went into the break 2-0 down before shelling two second-half goals. Forster blamed individual errors for the conceded goals, but urged his players to become vocal.
“We are getting done because we are not strong enough,” he said.
“There’s a little bit of football nous that these 18 and 19-year-old lads need to learn.”
’Bridge fielded Gainsborough Trinity player Dan Clayton, who also played against Athletic for Ripon earlier this season.
Athletic missed three defenders at ’Bridge, and Tommy Lee, Sam Kellegher, Phil Myles and Mark Waterhouse were all injured during the match.
Jordan Hart and Matty Forster are also unavailable for Saturday’s Barkston Ash Cup match at Aberford Albion.
Forster added he would rest players to examine the quality of the second string.
“We have two cup matches in the next three weeks. I am not interested in the results,” he added.
“I’m focused on the Brighouse Old Boys match a week on Saturday.”
