Knaresborough Town have been named in the Baris Northern Counties East League proposed constitution for the 2012/13 season, according to the league’s official Twitter feed.

The NCEL tweeted: “D1 to be 22 with Selby relegated from Prem and new clubs Athersley Rec, Knaresborough Town, Cleethorpes Town and Clipstone Welfare.”

Both the NCEL Premier Division and Division One are likely to contain 22 teams each.

The constitution will be discussed and finalised at the league AGM on Saturday June 16.

Manse Lane boss Brian Davey was delighted with the news.

“It’s been five years hard work,” he said.

“Especially this year with all the ground improvements, it’s great news. Now we can start building for next season. We can start going forward.”

‘Boro’ have now made the move to Step Nine on the football pyramid, two below Harrogate Railway.
