The 243 supporters that braved the rain at Knaresborough Town’s Manse Lane today witnessed a nine-goal thriller against former Premier League giants Blackburn Rovers.
Former Manchester United trainee Colin Heath bagged a hat-trick but three late goals gave the youthful Rovers team a 5-4 victory.
Heath’s treble had put Boro 3-1 up, before Tom Robinson made the score 4-2 with less than 15 minutes to go.
However, Rovers hit back and scored three goals in the last five minutes reversed the scoreline.
Meanwhile, Harrogate Town continued their Conference North preparations with a 2-1 defeat against FC Halifax Town at the CNG Stadium.
Ashley Worsfold scored for the Harrogate side, but Neil Aspin’s Halifax grabbed the win in the second half.
Elsewhere, Calum Ward hit a hat-trick as Tadcaster Albion hammered nine goals past Richmond Town away from home.
New signing Josh Greening also bagged a brace, with other goals from Nick Thompson, Mitch Hamilton (2) and an own goal in the 9-1 win.
