Harrogate Town kept pace with National League North leaders AFC Fylde courtesy of a 3-1 home win over Gloucester City.

Simon Weaver’s side remain level on points with the division’s early pacesetters after their fifth victory in seven league matches at the CNG Stadium, and only an inferior goal difference keeps them off top spot following their latest success.

JP Pittman set Town on their way when he diverted home Danny Ellis’ goalbound header from a 25th-minute Andi Thanoj corner.

Thanoj then netted a free-kick just before the interval to send the hosts into the interval two goals to the good.

Ed Williams pulled one back for Gloucester after the break, but Dominic Knowles took the score to 3-1 on 70 minutes when he got on the end of Pittman’s flick-on and knocked the ball over City gloveman Jasbir Singh.
