Harrogate Town’s U-19s stormed to a jaw-dropping 21-0 York District Cup first round win at home to Strensall last week.
Liam Moroney netted the opener in the fifth minute and Town shot into an 8-0 lead after goals from Joe Goodsall (2), Elliott Gracey, Matt Brayshaw, Adam Robinson and Joe Davison (2).
The floodgates opened in the second half as Brayshaw netted a second and Davison secured his hat-trick.
Skipper Dom Rodgers scored, before four goals for Goodsall, another for Rodgers, plus goals by sub Elliott Moore, Lewis Pye, Kern McFarlane. Goodsall’s seventh and Brayshaw’s third wrapped up the incredible night.
“The young lads are really playing well so far this season with lots of goals and more importantly the performances backing it up,” said youth development manager Mike Bligh.
“It’s really easy to get caught out in a game of this kind but all the players managed to keep concentrated and focused throughout the 90 minutes. Joe Goodsall is really taking the challenge put in front of him in every game.”
