Harrogate Town snap up Leigh Franks

Have your say

Harrogate Town have recruited versatile defender Leigh Franks as their fifth summer signing.

Franks has joined Town from Alfreton Town and will add defensive cover at right-back and centre half.

The 22-year-old started his career at Scarborough as a youth player before turning professional at Huddersfield Town in 2007.

Whilst at Huddersfield, he spent loan spells at Fleetwood Town and Oxford United but he was released at the end of the 2010/11 season.

Franks made 34 appearances in an injury-plagued spell at Conference Premier side Alfreton and scored two goals.
