Harrogate Town’s play-off ambitions all but ended at Solihull Moors on Tuesday night as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
The loss dropped Simon Weaver’s side to seventh, below Bradford Park Avenue and six points outside the Blue Square North play-off zone.
And, with play-off rivals FC Halifax Town to play on Thursday as well as second-placed Guiseley next Tuesday, it looks unlikely Town will bounce back into the top five.
Two goals in three second half minutes saw Moors complete the double over Town after their 4-2 win at the CNG Stadium two weeks ago.
Moors took the lead on the 60th minute mark through Gary Birch, before doubling their lead two minutes later through Dior Angus.
Elsewhere, it was better news for Knaresborough Town as they ended a run of three defeats to beat lowly Dinnington Town 2-0.
A Steve Bromley first half double was enough to see Brian Davey’s men climb back up to fourth in NCEL Division One with two games to go.
