New signing Steve Bromley smashed in a hat-trick as Harrogate Railway bounced back from Saturday’s disappointing defeat to thrash New Mills 5-0 at Station View last night.
Bromley found the net twice in the first period before sealing the emphatic victory late on.
New Mills’ Daniel Douglas-Pringle put into his own net in-between Bromley’s first-half efforts before diminutive midfielder Nathan Cartman blasted home two minutes after half-time.
Railway headed into the fixture having lost 4-0 to Ramsbottom United on Saturday, and they were overwhelmed 4-1 away at New Mills in September.
But Billy Miller’s men responded to the torrential conditions at Station View to blitz their Derbyshire opponents off the park.
Mills did hit the woodwork twice but they failed to find a telling blow to unlock the Railway defence.
Bromley’s treble were his first goals for the club after he joined from Knaresborough Town earlier this month.
The three points moved Railway into the top half of Evo-Stik First Division North, with 20 points in ninth.
However, Miller’s men have played more fixtures than any other team in the division.
Railway are next in action at bottom of the table Ossett Albion on Saturday.
