Harrogate Town saw their 2-0 lead reduced to a 2-2 draw at home to Bishop’s Stortford on Tuesday night.
Simon Weaver’s troops had shot into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Alan White and new striker Colin Larkin either side of half time.
But defensive errors once again cost Town dear when Stortford surged back in the second half.
Town took the lead four minutes before half-time, when White rose above the melee to nod home Dwayne Samuels’ free kick.
Larkin then made it 2-0 seven minutes after the restart, rounding the ‘keeper to slot home.
However, Reece Prestedge reduced the deficit after an error from White, before Town failed to defend a corner in the 86th minute, allowing Brian Woodhall to fire home and reduce three points to one.
Town remain fifth in Blue Square Bet North, just inside the play-off spots.
Elsewhere, Harrogate Railway drew nil-nil away at Wakefield in the EvoStik First Division North.
Tadcaster Albion suffered a hard night away at Retford United, losing 4-1 in the NCEL Premier.
Chris Youldon netted Albion’s only goal two minutes into the second half, but Jack Cross’s hat-trick and Bobby Johnson’s goal made sure Retford took the points.
