Tadcaster Albion maintained their position at the NCEL Premier peak despite failing to beat mid-table Barton Town Old Boys away on Saturday.

Paul Marshall’s men fell behind after seven minutes before strikes from prolific striker Carl Stewart and captain Nick Thompson pulled them ahead before the break.

But the Old Boys responded in the second half with a 60th minute leveller to draw the match 2-2.

Albion play at Glasshoughton Welfare in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

In-form pair Steve Bromley and Nathan Cartman were again on target as Billy Miller’s Harrogate Railway beat Ossett Albion 2-0 in Evo-Stik Northern First Division North.

Cartman opened the scoring with a cushioned header at the Warehouse Systems Stadium before Bromley fired home from close range.
