Harrogate Town have confirmed two final recruits before their Vanarama North season begins on Saturday.
Manager Simon Weaver has secured deals for youngsters Harry Coates and Louie Swain after both players impressed during Town’s pre-season campaign.
Striker Swain, 19, was released by Bradford City at the end of last season after spending the final few months on loan at Harrogate Railway.
Coates, 18, left York City in May after rising through the Minstermen’s youth system.
The centre-back will provide additional cover at Town behind captain Shane Killock, Leigh Franks, Matt Heath and fellow former York defender Dave McGurk.
Swain could find himself in the Town squad to face Tamworth at the CNG Stadium on Saturday, with strikers Ashley Worsfold and Jake Speight sidelined.
Weaver said: “Louis might get an opportunity sooner than he thinks.
“He’s got good confidence. He’s a big unit, brave as a lion and he has a turn of pace.
“Harry is only 18 but he’s in a man’s body. He still has things to learn but I think we can develop him.”
