Reigning champions Kirk Deighton Rangers won a nine-goal thriller against top of the table rivals Bramham to stretch out an eight-point lead in Division One on Sunday.

Chris Fairhurst's brace led Rangers to a 6-3 success over the second-placed opposition, whose season has finished.

Sherwood are now the only team capable of stopping Rangers but still have six matches left to play and a ten-point gap to overturn.

The Starbeck outfit advanced past Harrogate CSC 5-0 in the League Knockout Cup on Sunday.

Jamie Glover's brace boosted Wetherby Athletic's top four hopes in a 6-3 win over Harrogate Cosmos.

Tom Mallen, Tom Kirk, Sam Schofield and Josh Barden were also on target.

With half a season still to play, fifth-placed Showbiz Whites can still win the league but their bid was dented in a 2-2 draw at Markington. James McGlinchey and Ali Bowles hit the net for Whites.

The Division Two's leading pair Markington Reserves and Hampsthwaite United shared a 1-1 draw to keep the title race alive.

Both teams sit on 30 points but Markington still have four games to play, compared to United's one.

Burton Leonard can spoil the promotion party two points behind the pair in third after scoring a 4-1 win at Shadwell.

In midtable, Bardsey got the better of a nine-goal thriller at FC Harrogate with Pat Furlong scoring twice.
