Boroughbridge AFC are making the final preparations to welcome a representative side from Carlisle United as the grand finale to their pre-season preparations.
’Bridge host the Brunton Park outfit to Aldborough Road on Tuesday for a 6.15pm kick-off.
And the prospect of playing against talented League One youngsters has excited boss Daz Ekin.
“It’s great to get a professional club and players of that standard to be coming down to Boroughbridge,” he said.
“It’s fantastic, not only for the club but for the town.
“I know the lads are very much looking forward to it.”
The club have designed a special souvenir programme and pennant to mark the occasion.
Boroughbridge were beaten 5-2 by NCEL outfit Knaresborough Town at Manse Lane on Tuesday night in the Sadie Rose Clifford Charity Cup match.
Liam Healey and Matt Thompson scored the goals for ’Bridge in front of a crowd of 248.
Ekin’s side’s pre-season schedule continues tonight, at home to NCEL Premier side Glasshoughton Welfare (6.45pm).
