title-chasing Tadcaster Albion side opened the new year with a terrific 2-0 win at Nostell Miners Welfare.
The three points keeps them hot of the heels of NCEL Premier leaders Retford United, who second-placed Albion play at home on Saturday.
Ex-York City junior Jamie Hopcutt slammed home an incredible hat-trick to secure the victory on Bank Holiday Monday.
His seventh-minute left-foot strike from over 20 yards sent Albion in at the break by a goal to nil.
After the start, right wing-back Hopcutt cut in from the flank, drove past two defenders and fired a 65th-minute finish over the stranded goalkeeper.
His third was claimed five minutes later when Nostell gave the ball away to Hopcutt who powered in from an angle.
Goalkeeper Arran Reid rounded off an impressive team display by saving a late Nostell penalty after Rob Pell was deemed to have handled in the area.
