Ripon’s Jack Laugher is celebrating on the international stage after his double success at the World Junior Division Championships in Adelaide.
The 17-year-old Ripon Grammar School pupil retained his individual 3m springboard title on the opening day of the competition on Monday.
And he then followed up by cruising home alongside Olympic hero Tom Daley in the 3m springboard synchro to crown an amazing week.
Daley himself was making his first appearance since winning a bronze medal at the London Olympics, continuing an impressive year which has seen the star crowned European and World Series platform champion.
Laugher, who competed in his first Olympic Games in August, has been tipped as a future world champion by American diving legend Greg Louganis, and has now won four junior world crowns.
The partnership of Daley and Laugher finished way ahead of their rivals after their score of 338.85.
Russian duo Ilia Kuzmin and Maxim Popkov were their closest challengers, 30.83 behind.
It was a rare appearance on the springboard for Daley, but marked a possible future direction for the Plymouth diver.
