Bardsey survived a late scare to beat Knaresborough by 16 runs at Spofforth CC in the 2012 Addison Cup final.
The Keswick Laners batted first and posted 148-5, with Hamid Khan (64) the mainstay of the crease.
Some equally eye-catching hitting by Baba Butt (39) saw them up to a competitive score. Sam Ryan (2-29) was the pick of the ‘Boro’ bowlers.
Jonny Tattersall (17) and Aussie Jack Paynter got the Aspin Lane men off to a good start in reply.
But when Tattersall was harshly given out LBW off the bowling of Azir Ullah for 17 it sparked a mini collapse which handed Bardsey the initiative.
Greg Pickles was cleaned up next ball for a golden duck, Stu Carey and Ryan followed him shortly all off the bowling of Ullah who finished with figures of 5-30 and walked away with the man-of-match award.
Paynter was ‘Boro’s beacon of hope, but when he perished caught and bowled by M Naved for 66 all hope of a remarkable comeback diminished.
Some late order thrashing from captain Dave Darley gave the scoreline a sense of respectability, but it proved to be a bridge too far.
