Reigning champions Beckwithshaw’s renaissance in Aire-Wharfe continued as Ben Quick’s men hammered nearly 300 runs at Kirkstall on Saturday.

Shaw climbed to fifth in Division One with a 56-run win, a month after plummeting into the relegation zone.

Captain Quick’s 112 not out and Yasir Ali’s 109 from 90 balls raced Shaw to 299-3 from 50 overs, before Ishi Hussain’s 4-72 helped bowl the Leeds outfit out for 243.

Division One rivals Bilton maintained their push for a historic title as they saw off Steeton at Bilton Lane.

Muhammad Khalil Ullah topscored with 48 as Bilton made 173-9. Steeton were then skittled for 129, with Sajad Ali (4-40) and Vic Craven 3-26 in the wickets.

Ryan Nicholson’s men are just 10 points from the top, with 10 matches to play.

However, the Bilton Laners exited the Waddilove Cup on Sunday as they lost by 121 runs to Guiseley in the quarter-finals.

In Division Two, Follifoot stepped into topspot after North Leeds’ clash against Knaresborough was abandoned due to rain.

Follifoot thrashed struggling Thackley by six wickets, after Muhammad Bilal took 4-37 to bowl the hosts out for just 126.

Knaresborough were in a dominant position against North Leeds when the rain thwarted their victory charge.

Sam Ryan’s unbeaten 69 helped Boro make 181-8 before Neil Marshall’s 3-19 limited North Leeds to 121-8 from 28 overs when the rain became too much.

The Aire-Wharfe league will take a break this weekend for the Tour de France.
