KNARESBOROUGH Town boss Brian Davey is looking forward to their New Year’s Eve clash at home to Carlton on Saturday (2pm ko).
‘Boro’ currently lead the way in the West Yorkshire Premier League after a fine finish to 2011.
Next year also promises to be an exciting one at the club.
The Manse Lane outfit are waiting for money to be released so they can build floodlights at their home ground in a bid to meet the requirements of making the step up into the NCEL First Division next season.
“We’re just waiting on one or two things at the moment,” said Davey.
“Once they’re in place we can go ahead with our plans. That’s the plan to move into the Northern Counties, hopefully everything will run smoothly.”
On the pitch things are looking rosy.
Davey’s men are hunting another Premier League crown, but the gaffer knows they face stiff competition from defending champions Bardsey and West Yorkshire men Beeston.
“It won’t be easy,” Davey said about ‘Boro’s title chances.
“There are so many good teams in this division. But we’re in a good position at the moment. We’ve just got to keep it going, keep winning games and see where we are at the end of the season.”
