Harrogate hosted its own mini-Olympics at Rossett School.
More than 50 pupils from six schools across the district were invited by Harrogate Town AFC and Sainsbury’s to the Day of Sport for All.
They tried out Olympic favourites such as the 50m sprint, 400m long distance, shotput, discuss and javelin.
They even got a chance to try out Paralympic sport botcher.
Garry Plant of Harrogate Town said: “Today was about competing.
“The pupils got to experience different sports. This event continues the work the club is doing in the community.
“We are delighted to be working with Sainsbury’s to help more pupils get active.”
Sainsbury’s Wetherby Road manager Steve Thompson said: “Sainsbury’s Harrogate is pleased to be able to support along with Harrogate AFC and Rossett School at Olympic Sports for All day.
“The idea behind the event is to provide children that generally do not represent schools in sports to become active and have some fun taking part in sports including Paralympic sport.”
