Letter: Traffic - Bilton Hall Lane as an alternative?
Having just read Mr Hattersley's suggested solution to the easing of some of our traffic problems (Advertiser, February 16) I wish to state what an absolutely brilliant idea, as he states - utilise (thus saving millions of pounds) an already existing route namely Bilton Hall Lane/Bilton Hall Drive.
By upgrading this road to a two lane through road which would not be of any great construction problem an extremely viable alternative would be created to the massively overused Knaresborough road and Skipton road thoroughfares.
Having only 13 properties that would be directly affected abutting this existing route no other already suggested alterative could be accomplished at such little public purse cost.
What is there to seriously hold up the start of construction of this route and help alleviate a lot of the serious traffic congestion?
