Letter: The tragedy in Nice is a tragedy for us all

The recent events in Nice and indeed around the world, have made even the most avid travellers question where should I go? And will I be safe?

It is true we all have to be more vigilant than we were say 10 years ago, but this does not mean that we should stop planning our holidays .

It is such a tragedy for the affected areas around the world that have been cruelly attacked and have seen their popularity with tourists’ drop significantly resulting in loss of jobs and income. As travellers we cannot be deterred from our basic right to see the world and enjoy other cultures and continue to support tourism in other countries as well as our own. The tragedy in Nice is a tragedy for us all.
