This year’s Christmas grotto collection by the Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes has raised over £6100.

I should like to say an enormous thank you to the people of Harrogate for their remarkable generosity in these very hard times and it shows that the true spirit of Christmas is alive and well in Harrogate and District.

The money will be donated to local charities, principally the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Wellspring Therapies Freedom4Youth Project and also Essential needs.

The two-week collection in Asda, Harrogate has been organised by the Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes for the past 18 years.

This year it has been one of the most successful.

We are extremely grateful the continued support from Asda for allowing us to run the event in the store and help in constructing the grotto.

I should also like to say a very big thank you to all our members, and to members of Harrogate Brigantes Inner Wheel Club for their ongoing support. In addition, I would like to thank all the partners and friends who helped to make the Grotto so successful in the two very busy weeks leading up to Christmas.

Mike Hammond

President, The Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes
