A 22-year-old Harrogate actor will begin his first professional role this week in London.
Former Woodlands Junior School and St Aidan’s pupil Matt Johnson will play the role of Duncan in one-act play The Mess at Baron’s Court Theatre.
Matt has acted with Harrogate Youth Theatre, Harrogate Dramatic Society and the National Youth Theatre.
He said: “I was excited as soon as I read the script.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to playDuncan, a true Yorkshire lad.
“I’d like to thank all the people back in Harrogate who helped me get to this level.
“I’m looking forward to this challenge and the challenges to come.”
Matt currently studies at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
He was a winner at the 2009 Harrogate Festival f Music, Speech and Drama.
He is also the Movement Director for the play.
