The soldier who was murdered in a terrorist attack in London had trained at Catterick Garrison, the MOD have confirmed.
Drummer Lee Rigby, 25, of 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, has been named as victim of the brutal attack.
Drummer Rigby, from Manchester, joined the army in 2006 and completed his initial training at Catterick.
Soliders at the garrision, which includes Claro Barracks in Ripon and Dishforth near Boroughbridge, have not been advised to avoid going out in uniform in the aftermath of the attack.
A spokesman for Catterick Garrision said they were not to change their behaviour.
“The instruction is to carry on as normal,” he added.
