Staff and residents from a Ripon care home were celebrating this week after winning first place in the Anchor housing national Christmas cake competition.

Weeks were spent making and decorating the cake at Borrage House, Borrage Lane, Ripon ready to take on the competition.

It was a nailbiting final held at Anchor Homes Denham Garden Village where the judges crowned Borrage House’s Tracy Durkan and Pauline Davey the winners of the best cake decorated by Anchor staff.

Borrage House Manager Jean Rowlinson said how proud she was of Tracy and Pauline

“Everyone at Borrage House is ecstatic about winning the final and of the effort put in by both Tracy and Pauline.”
