This weekend sees the start of the new Harrogate Film Festival’s warm-up events to get you in the mood for the main event in March 2017.

Organisers of this independent festival say it is designed to be truly encompassing - and its ethos of ‘join in’ applies to its very first event, a special screening of the original Ghostbusters.

Visiting different venues, this first event takes place at Harrogate’s Ashville College’s new Soothill Hall this Sunday (November 20) from 11am when youngsters and the young at heart are encouraged to come dressed as their best ghost and complete some arts and crafts.

Anna Rakusen-Guy at Ashville Trading said: “We are delighted that our fabulous auditorium has been chosen to support one of this year’s warm-up events in collaboration with Harrogate Film Festival. This event is perfect for parents and children and we certainly can’t wait to see what surprises are in store on Sunday.”

Harrogate Film Festival will be taking place across Harrogate on the 3rd, 4th and 5th March of 2017 with 17 events across different venues in the Harrogate area.

Owned by Adam Chandler, director of Harrogate-based video production company Reel Film, the festival is supported by 15 local business sponsors with more events to be announced soon.

Planning for Harrogate Film Festival began in the summer of 2014

Harrogate Film Festival is a member of Cinema for All and Film Hub North.
