Staff at a Wetherby hair salon have celebrated 40 successful years in business on their anniversary this week.

Kathleen O’Leery opened her own hairdressing business - Kath’s Hair Care - back in 1976 when she was just 18.
But now Kath has thanked her family, the community her clients and staff for their support as the salon is popular as ever, four decades on.
She said: “I would like to thank past and present staff and clients as well for the loyalty they have given me over the years.
“I have clients who come every week who have become more friends than clients now.
“There is an awful lot of hairdressers in Wetherby so it is your weekly clients that keep you ticking over.
“I know that when I do hang up the scissors I will miss everybody because you get to know everybody on quite a friendly basis.
Starting her career in the industry at just 13, Kath said she couldn’t believe how quick time has gone by.
“It’s amazing, you don’t think of the future when you’re 18. I’m just glad I’m still fit and well enough to do it and I still enjoy it, I never get bored or fed up it’s been in my blood since I was 13 years old.
“The years literally have flown by I just can’t believe these 40 years have now clocked up.”
