Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s longest-serving Prime Minister of the twentieth century and the first woman to have held the office, died peacefully at the Ritz on Monday at the age of 87.
Baroness Thatcher was undoubtedly a divisive politician, and earned the nickname the ‘Iron Lady’ for her strong and often uncompromising leadership style.
While thousands of people across Britain staged celebratory parties on the news of her death, Prime Minster David Cameron maintained that Lady Thatcher not only led the country, but saved the country.
