Vandals have targeted streets in the Jennyfields area of Harrogate.
Graffiti has been sprayed in the underpass from Norwood Grove to the Hydro from Oakbank and on telephone exchange boxes on Euclid Avenue, Hartwith Road and Jennyfield Drive.
The incidents of criminal damage occured between Monday December 17 and Saturday December 29.
Police Community Support Officer Michael Smith, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This type of mindless vandalism is utterly pointless and the vandals need to be caught as they need to understand the negative impact it has on our communities.
“I ask people to take a look at graffiti tags to see if they can identify those responsible. If you can put names to the vandals, or may have witnessed the damage taking place, please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.”
PCSO Smith added: “I would also like to speak to anyone who has seen other graffiti which may not have been reported to the police.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact Harrogate police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Michael Smith or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
