Upper Nidderdale Parish Council: are advertising for a parish caretaker. Duties entail grass cutting in summer, installation/repair/painting of bench seats, painting/repair/maintenance of playgrounds, gully clearance around the reservoir side to keep the road water free and general strimming around the area. Anglican/Methodist Service: will take place at St Chad’s, Middlesmoor at 2.30pm on Sunday, November 17. On Sunday, November 24, Matins will be held at St Mary’s, Ramsgill at 9am and, on the same day, a Methodist service will be held at 6.30pm at Wath Chapel.
Stay & Play: event will be held this morning between 10-11.30am at St Cuthbert’s Early Years Centre. The informal session is open to all pre-school children and their families regardless of the primary school they will attend in the future. It is a chance for your child to learn through play by joining in the wide range of activities in the spacious, well resourced indoor and outdoor classrooms. Ramsgill Christmas Coffee Morning: reminder for Saturday/Sunday, November 23/24 from 10am-3pm at the village hall. There will be many Christmas goodies on offer - cakes, baking, chutneys, mincemeat, decorative bags/boxes/ribbons and plants. All funds raised will be divided between the village hall and St Mary’s Church.
Lofthouse School: are also embarking on their third Christmas Fair which will be held on Saturday, November 30 from 10am-noon. The event will incorporate stalls by local craftspeople, busy little elves selling tea-towels and many other items, refreshments, seasonal goodies, music and carol singing, cake stall, childrens/adult tombola and Santa’s grotto. There will be a complimentary festive drink and slice of Christmas cake on arrival, but instead of an admission charge, Friends of Lofthouse School committee will be asking for a donation towards school funds. Any contribution of raffle prizes/cakes/help would be most appreciated.
Middlesmoor Village Hall: committee are also organising two events for Christmas. The first is their craft fair, to be held from 2-5pm on Sunday, December 8, when interested people can hire a table for £5 to sell seasonal crafts/presents. The second is a Christmas Social Evening, organised for Saturday, December 21 at 7.30pm, when there will be a co-op supper, quiz and parlour games.
