Upper Nidderdale Flower Club: next meeting will be held at 7.45pm on Thursday, March 7 at Lofthouse Village Hall, when Ted Flexman will run a workshop on Willow Weaving. Two choices of weaving are on offer, one to create a dragonfly to perhaps hang from a tree or another to make a pyramidal structure for sweet peas. The weaving costs £1 per person, and you will need to take secateurs and an apron. Visitors very welcome.

Weight Watchers: meetings have started in St Cuthbert’s lounge, Pateley Bridge every Thursday evening from 6-7pm. Organiser, Brenda Rafferty, informs us that it is the last chance tonight to take advantage of the company’s offer of joining free, plus free first meeting. Studfold Adventure Trail: has been listed in the Independent newspaper (February 15) as one of the 50 Best Family Days Out in Britain. A delighted Anne Challis states: “We are thrilled to be recognised for the amazing experience you can have at Studfold. Families will be intrigued, challenged and delighted in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside. Of course, a big thank you goes to all the hard work and devotion shown from the Studfold team over the many years in the designing and creating of the Adventure Trail.”

Ramsgill Domino Drive: reminder, for this Saturday, March 2, which will be held at 7.30pm in Ramsgill Village Hall in aid of Cancer Research. Everyone very welcome.

Ramsgill Art Studio: workshops for March are as follows: March 13: Dramatic landscape in pastel - Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Scotland; March 20: Postcard size watercolours - using a limited palette and a loose technique. Please contact Sarah Garforth on 01423 755098 to book a place.

Markington & District Billiards: results for Wednesday, January 30: Lofthouse 3 - Hampsthwaite B 2; Ripley C 1 - Middlesmoor 4. The highest break of 46 was scored by Paul Downey. No snooker results this week.
